I
have a story that definitely still scares me. I have always had weird feelings about
the house I live in but nothing was really that scary until this incident.. My
name is Debbie and I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My mother, my brother,
and I have been renting a house there for 16 years, and even though I don't
think it's haunted, I do have a weird tale.
My
room is pretty big, and the shadows in there have always scared me. On one
side of my room I have an entertainment center, and in the corner is a VHS
cabinet with all my movies in it. On the other side of the room is the
closet, and my bed is sandwiched in between both. One night when I fell
asleep I thought I heard someone walk into my room, so I just figured it was
my brother coming in to grab a movie. The noise moved around my bed, went to
the VHS cabinet, and then moved around to where the closet is.
It sounded as though a man were standing beside my bed and whispering
something in my ear. It was muted so I couldn't make out what was being
said. I began to get cold and threw the covers over my head. A few minutes
went by and I again heard the footsteps walking around my bed. He came back
over to the side of the closet, and started to whisper. I was so afraid that
I just could not move a muscle in my body. I couldn't scream out to anyone.
I was fully aware of what was going on, and I know for sure that it was not a
dream.
His
voice was getting louder, but I still couldn't make out what was being said to
me. My whole body was paralyzed and I wanted to scream. I tried to open my
mouth, but nothing came out. It felt like an eternity lying there listening
to this man trying to talk to me. When I finally got the nerve up to pull
the covers down, he was gone.
I told my mother and my brother what had happened to me, and my brother told
me that he had never entered my room that night. My mother was
on the couch and didn't hear a thing. It has only happened to me one more
time after that. But the feeling still stays with me. I can still hear his
voice in my ear, and I often wonder what he wanted and if he'll come back to
me again.
