I was living in a townhouse
in the Oak lawn section of Dallas, TX. One morning
when my husband got up to take a shower, I was still lying in bed listening tohis every move, such as brushing his teeth and turning on the water in
theshower. When I heard footsteps come back into
the bedroom, I thought hehadforgotten his watch on the bedside table. Suddenly there was a furiouspoundingin the mattress, so much that my
head was bouncing! It continued for severalseconds
and then stopped. I was frozen with fear but knew I was awake because Icould still hear the shower running in the bathroom. When I could
finally getup the courage to get out of bed, I
walked into the bathroom to find my husbandin the
shower. I sat down on the side of the bathtub and he looked out at me inhorror!! He said I was completely white and thought I was about to be
sick. Itold him that something very strange had
just happened and that I was not ill butfrightened
to death!! He immediately got out of the shower to talk to me. Itold him what happened, and he believed that something happened, but
had to rushoff to work and said we would talk
later.
That night, I told him the story again in detail and he verified all that I
hadheard him do in the bathroom. So I really knew
I was awake during this ordealand not dreaming.
However, he did not come back into the bedroom when I heardfootsteps. He said he believed that something happened to me, but
thought itwasa bad dream
and really did not believe in ghosts at all. After a while we wentto bed, only to be awakened by the toilet lid being slammed shut. My
husbandjumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom
and started screaming at me, "Don'tyou see it !! The white smoke, don't you see it !" I was looking in
thebathroom and saw nothing. Then he said it
disappeared. I said, "Now do youbelieve in
ghosts?" He was just as shaken as I had been that morning.
Later that month we were awoken one more time by a very small being jumping
andrunning around on the bed. I asked my husband
if he had brought home a smallpuppy or kitten that
jumped on the bed, and he said he was about to ask me thesame thing!! Once again we laid there frozen in fear until it
stopped. Afterthat no more occurrences.
