ONE:
Over
the Washhouse
It was late July 1969,
5 miles east of Lacon, IL. My mom, twin brothers and I had just
come home from swimming in the creek with my older sister and her family. My
brother was hungry and I went in the house with him to fix him a bowl of
cereal. My mom and other brother were unloading the car. Suddenly mom started to
scream " COME HERE QUICK" R and I jumped up and raced out the back door. In the
air coming from the north was a UFO. It was round with a dome on top. I stopped
in the yard just in front of the wash house. My beagle hit my legs so hard
whining that he almost knocked me down. Mom and k were standing by the picket
fence staring. The dog freaked and ran under the washhouse, with our other
beagle right behind him. The cats were freaking and running towards the barn.
This thing came in slowed up and stopped in the air so low to the ground if I
had had a broom in my hand I could have hit it!! The twins were hysterical by
now and mom was running them to the house. I felt frozen and could not take my
eyes off it. It tipped like it wanted a closer look at us. The front had a large
window, through it you could see a lighted control panel. Many colored lights
were flashing and two LARGE, black chairs, the floor behind them was a smoky
gray. It hung like that for a few seconds, then leveled off, rose and went out
over the pony pasture to the east. It was headed straight for our neighbors
house. I was in awe and it hadn't hurt us so I ran through the yard to the
pasture fence and watched as it went to the neighbors house across the field and
then it did a u turn and came back to the fence right in front of me. It stopped
in the air and watched me, though I never saw anything on board. Then it turned
to the right and took off at a high speed over the highway to the south, up the
hill, over l's house and was gone.
This is a true story and I had three human witnesses and the
pets.
TWO:
Morning shocker!!
My mom was getting ready for work one
morning and I was fixing breakfast for the twins. Dad went out to warm the car
up for her and he started yelling "HURRY COME HERE" at the top of his lungs!!
Mom rushed outside with me right behind her. Dad was ill at the time and we
thought he had fallen or gotten hurt!! Coming across the field from the west to
the east were to huge balls of fire with what appeared to be { resembled a
huge} crowbar linking them. It was so low it was bending the tops of the corn
stalks. It came down behind the barn, garage, pony pasture and went on to the
east past C's house. It never made a sound or stopped. All of us were in shock
and none of us knew what it was. We never saw that again. This happened on the
farm 5 miles east of Lacon, IL in the summer { June} 1969.
THREE:
Graveyard visit
July 1969, 5 miles south of Lacon, IL on the farm we were
living on, for a week this huge ball of light rose from the grave yard across
the road and stopped at tree top level. For an hour it sat there then would
shoot straight up in the sky at a high rate of speed and be gone. Mom, the twins
and I watched this for four nights straight. We told dad but the other things
going on there had him spooked. He told us we probably saw the moon coming up.
On Friday night he came home sick from work just in time to see it rising
through the trees. He was in awe as he watched it with us. After it shot away
he said THAT IS NOT THE MOON!!!
The next morning he loaded the rifle put the dogs on a leash
and went to the grave yard to check things out. In about two hours he came back
pale and shaken. He sat at the kitchen table and told mom and me that the grave
yard looked as if a million pigs had rooted up the dirt there. All around the
head stones loose dirt was pilled up and some of the stones overturned, but no
footprints either animal or human. He said the dogs acted terrified and he had
to drag them along with him. He had no idea what had happened there. We were
forbidden to leave the house after dark. We never saw it again so I guess it
got what it had been after.
FOUR:
A Scout maybe
5 miles south of Lacon. IL July 1969
Mom and I were gathering the laundry to go to town to the
Laundromat. Our washer had broken down and dad was working on it. As we pulled
out of the lane and started for town, mom asked me if I saw that ball out the
window. I leaned way out the window but saw nothing. She said "On this side" she
had meant her side of the car. A huge red ball was along side the car about tree
top level. It kept pace with the car, and followed us right in to town. Mom by
this time was afraid to stop. She thought it would hurt us, so she went over the
Lacon bridge. When we got to the middle of the bridge it sped up, went to the
south west, out over the brick yard. We watched it till it was out of sight. Mom
turned around in Sparland and we went back to Lacon to do the laundry.
