FAMOUS CASES

Skeptic or Believer?

I believe there are ghosts. I believe we do not die, that our spirit or soul lives on, and it is perfectly possible to "haunt" the living.  Some ghosts are people who don't realize they're dead, or they're here to try to take care of some unfinished business, or they want to reassure those who are left behind.  Then, there are those "hauntings" which are simply like pieces of film that are replayed over and over.  There's no actual entity activity there, it's more like what I call an "imprint" on this physical plane.  You can tell the difference by seeing if the phenomena changes.  If people are seeing the same thing, with no changes, then it's probably an imprint.

There's photographic evidence of ghosts.  I am fascinated by the photos of misty forms, but I am completely skeptical of orbs.  I have to say, I don't believe that orbs in photos are evidence of ANYTHING but the camera catching moisture in the air.  I've never seen a video of orbs, but that would be about the only way I would believe orbs were more than moisture.  I would have to SEE an orb moving about or changing size, etc., and to me, still photos would never prove that to my satisfaction.

I also believe we have to be very careful when photographing ghostly phenomena.  Last week, I saw an "alien" face on my front door.  I of course grabbed the Polaroid and took a couple of shots.  While the flash on the camera obscured where the "alien" face was seen, when I studied the pictures, I saw MANY non-human faces on the door.  All looking at ME.  More photos showed more faces, and even a couple of full-sized figures.  My door is wood, of course, with a clear varnish finish.  It's also old.  My husband saw no faces, other than what he described as "the Grateful Dead Logo" skull, on the area where I thought I saw the alien face with my unaided eyes.

What are the "demons" on my door?  Simply a trick of the eye.  Our brains are designed to make sense of patterns, or organize what we are seeing  into a familiar, recognizable picture.  My eyes looked at the grain and colouration of the wood of the door, and my brain translated that information into faces.  While thrilling, at first, I understood that what I was seeing wasn't real.  You may want to try this little experiment for yourself.  It's better with a Polaroid camera, of course, because you get instant gratification, but any camera should do.  Go ahead, take a photo of your front door, then sit down with a cup of coffee or what-have-you, and take a look.  You may not see faces, but the odds are you will see SOMETHING.

I do not in any way believe there are entities possessing my front door.  I would know if there were anything paranormal here, and this house is clean.  (How I know will be described in other posts.)

And then there are what I call demonic manifestations.  I am a firm believer in these.  I believe that people can be possessed by demons.  I believe that they are real.   Why do I believe this?  I have SEEN them with my own eyes.

I believe there are animals we haven't yet "discovered" in the  provable sense.   Bigfoot is one, and all his cousins.  Giant squids are another.   Chupacabra is possibly another.  And, just what IS the Loch Ness monster, anyway?  Too many people have seen SOMETHING for there to be nothing there.  I don't necessarily believe that "Nessie" is a surviving dinosaur, however.

In a town where I lived in Idaho, there is a lake with the reputation of having a Nessie-like creature in it.  However, a friend of mine was out on the lake with his brother, and they saw the "monster" for themselves.  What was it?  An unusually large sturgeon.  The only thing odd about it was its' size, and the fact that it was there.  The lake is a freshwater one.  But, it was easily recognizable as a sturgeon, and not some sort of dinosaur.  It came up to the surface as though curious about the boat my friend and his brother were in, and remained there for several minutes, close enough to touch, before slowly descending down and out of sight.  My friend has been amused from then on when he hears people talk about the "monster."

UFO abductions?  This is a topic I'm just not sure about.  I know we're seeing SOMETHING in the skies, the sheer volume of reports bear that out.  WHAT exactly we're seeing is the question.  I do not doubt for a minute that our beloved government is involved in elaborate cover-ups.  I believe at least part of the sightings are of secret military aircraft.

I've never known anyone who claimed to be abductees.  Or, I may have, but they didn't tell me.   I've never sat down with anyone who told me a first-hand account of having contact with "greys" or anything else extraterrestrial.  I myself have never seen unusual craft or lights in the sky, except for one incident many years ago, when I was laying out in my yard watching the skies during a meteor shower.  There was a "star" which I happened to be looking at, which suddenly zigzagged wildly in a boxlike pattern, moving in straight lines, for several seconds.

Now, I'm familiar with another trick of the eye, where if you look at a single star steadily, it will seemingly move around in a circular pattern in a small area, but this was nothing like that.  The movement I saw was over a large area, and it only moved in straight lines.  This probably went on for about 10 seconds.  Then, it returned to its' original position, and then vanished.  I've tried to reproduce this effect by staring at stars, and all I ever get are the lazy circles.  If not a trick of eye, what was it? I'll never know...

And, what are those "implants" people find in their bodies?  Unlike the one Dana Scully finds in her neck which is obviously a circuit board when viewed under a microscope in the X Files (she becomes aware of it when she sets off the metal detector at the airport), the ones I've seen in photos look more like unidentifiable lumps of metal.  Are they implants, or are they a buildup of metals and minerals in our bodies?

I'm neither a believer nor a scoffer of the UFO phenomena.  I just haven't seen enough, or experienced enough, or been exposed to enough evidence to make a firm decision as to whether to believe it or not.  I believe SOMETHING is going on, but simply have no idea what.  Right now, I tend to lean more towards the theory that a lot of it is us, our government.

I do believe there is life on other worlds.  How could there NOT be? How arrogant for us, the human race, standing here on our over crowded and overpolluted planet, to try to make the statement that WE are the only "intelligent" life out there.  I will never understand how anyone could seriously make that claim.  There are too many worlds out there, far out of our reach, for us to be the only ones...but, I do have to say, if we do contact aliens, it is my firm belief that they will be a lot more like "Alien" than "E.T...."

What do you believe?    What are you skeptical about?
