Haunted House in Atlanta Indiana
When I was 13. (1983) My
parents had bought a house in a small town called "Atlanta Indiana". Typically
it was the largest, spookiest, and oldest house in the town.
The house was an
Italianate style home. Complete with bay window's, Long columns, and secret
passage's. It was "a unique fixer upper opportunity". The house had been
abandoned for some time and needed a lot of work before we could move in
The floor's were rotted, the
wrought iron
fence broken and mangled, the chimney missing bricks and cracked. I guess my
parent's had to be crazy.
After a few month's of work we moved
in...
Almost from the first day I felt chills
through out the house. as if we were not the only occupants there. Late at
night I'd hear footsteps walking through the halls to my room and then suddenly
stop.
Thing's were
always getting lost as
well. As if something was purposely trying to make us move. But my parent's are
really stubborn. Telling me it's all in my head
One day I was cleaning up the attic by
myself. (a punishment for being bad) Anyways, I was hauling junk to the
garbage
dumpster back and forth all day. I kept having cold chills as if some body was
watching me or even in the room with me.
A wind picked up outside and sound's rose
through the air. It was the wrought Iron gate swaying in the breeze. Only we
tore the fence down month's before that.
I pleaded aloud that the noises would stop
and almost instantly they did.
My parent's still shrugged it off
although I no longer had to go up to the attic.
One night I awoke to a tapping at my bed.
Believing it was my dog ( a Great Pyrenees ) wagging his tail I saw a man about
6 ft. tall standing next to my bed in the darkness. I swear to God above that
the only unusual thing about him was his eye's a blue that glowed so brilliantly
it still gives me chill's to even dare think of it.
He started for my door and I asked who
are you. he didn't do anything but walk into the hall I followed him through
the house. (with my B.B.gun) to the cellar were he seemed to vanish into thin
air.
It scared the pant's off me I ran to my
parent's room and once again they blamed my imagination. However this time my
Mom got somebody to bless the house.
It was quiet for a short time after that.
My parent's decided to build a rec. room in the cellar and we had to break down
a couple walls to accommodate a pool table and a bar.
That's when they found it behind a wall a
skeleton. The remains of a man about 6 ft tall. We moved out after that and I
have been into hauntings quite intensely ever since. I am attending school and
plan on being a paranormal researcher.
